I am adding BEE HOLD to my list of FAVORITES!!! This stuff is amazing. I detangled J's hair and it had started to dry so it was getting pretty frizzy and not looking good at all, I applied BEE HOLD Curly Butter and raked it through her hair with my finger and her curls immediately spring back. I achieved a curl that I would normally have to wrap each section around my finger to achieve. I sent J to bed expecting her hair to be a mess (as usual) when she woke up but her curls still looked awesome in the morning. She wanted puffs and BEE HOLD molded them perfectly into place with just a little spritz of Bee Mine Juicy Moisturizing Daily Spritz.

After Cowashing J's hair and towel drying I sprayed BEE MINE JUICY Moisturizing Daily Spritz
into her hair to moisturize and de-tangle. This light weight moisturizer is just so easy to spray on after washing, in the morning or before bedtime. I used it this morning to revitalize and moisturize J's curls before styling.
 
BEE MINE JUICY Moisturizing Daily Spritz comes in a Tropical Mango scent which I expected to be pretty perfumey but it's actually a light herbal soft of scent. It's not what I expected but it's nice!!

Our Experience:

I sectioned J's hair into a small section at a time and used a small bit of Bee Mine No Sulfur Serum & Moisturizer on her scalp. After applying I massaged into her scalp. J's scalp tends to get very dry and this oil soothed and moisturized her dry scalp nicely. The smell is very herbal which J and I did not mind.
 
As far as the growth benefits, I am going to have to post and update. The whole family is trying to grow their hair longer so they can't wait to try this growth serum. We will measure their hair and give you a growth update in about a month, then again in 6 months to see how much growth they achieved!!

I Used the BioPlus leave-in conditioner on both my son and daughter's hair. It made de-tangling sooo much easier and really made their hair feel soft.  There really is almost no scent so my son appreciated that fact. He hates when I put perfumed products in his hair.

Our Experience:


J tends to have pretty dry hair, though we don't use chemicals or heat on her hair. This is a great conditioner for dry hair. I used it to co-wash J's hair then I used it as a deep conditioning treatment for 5 minutes. Her hair was very soft after and easy to de-tangle. I allowed her hair to dry naturally and could see the difference in how her hair looked.

I am currently working on reviews...trying out new products in hopes of coming up with a list of top natural hair products. There are some AWESOME giveaways in the works!!

Z is growing his hair out and it's just at the verge of being long enough for me to braid. It's actually driving us nuts because he plays with his hair ALL THE TIME! I keep telling him he's going to cause breakage with all the twisting he does.

J wants dreads but I really like experimenting with styles and I just think dreads are too permanent for her right now. Maybe when she gets a little older. For now I can give her the feel of dreads by twisting her hair.

My Hubby is STILL trying to dread his hair. Right now his hair is twisted with a bit of 100% bees wax and we're hoping it will dread up. Time will tell...

There are a lot of rumors out there about Sodium Lauryl/Laureth Sulfate. Is it really a carcinogen like those e-mails say? .What about an endocrine disruptor and skin irritant? What's truth and what's myth? I've written this article to clear up the confusion about the debated chemical. I don't need to spread lies...the truth is scary enough. To make it easy I'm going to refer to Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and its even more evil twin, Sodium Laureth Sulfate from this point forward as SLS.

Here are my top ten reasons you should not use anything containing SLS.

1. It is a known skin irritant. 

When cosmetic companies need to test the

healing properties of a lotion, they need toirritate the skin first. What do they use to do this? SLS, of course. If you have dandruff, dermatitis, canker sores, or other irritated tissues or skin, it could be due to SLS.

2. It pollutes our groundwater.  It is toxic to fish and other aquatic animals and has the potential for bioaccumulation (meaning it accumulates in the bodies of the fish.)  It also is undetected in many municipal water filters, getting into the tap water that you drink.

3. It is actually a pesticide and herbicide.  It is commonly used to kill plants and insects. Makers of SLS recently petitioned to have SLS listed as an approved pesticide for organic farming.  The application was denied because of its polluting properties and environmental damage.  

4. It emits toxic fumes when heated. Toxic Sodium Oxides and Sulfur Oxides are released when SLS is heated.  Makes a hot shower with an SLS shampoo seem not quite as nice...

5.  It has corrosive properties.  According to the American College of Toxicity,  this includes corrosion of the fats and protiens that make up skin and muscle.  SLS can be found in garage floor cleanrs, engine degreasers, and car wash soaps.  

6.  Long-term permeation of the body's tissues.  A study from the University of Georgia Medicine showed that SLS had the power to permeate the eyes, brain, heart, and liver.

7.  It's an eye irritant.  It was shown to cause cataracts in adults, and is proven to inhibit the proper formation of eyes in small children.

8.  Nitrate and other solvent contamination.  Toxic solvents, including carcinogenic nitrates are used in the manufacturing of SLS, traces of which can remain in the product.

9.  Manufacturing process is highly polluting, emitting cancer-causing volatile organic compounds, sulfur compounds, and air particulates.

10.  It helps other chemicals get into your body.  SLS is a penetration enhancer, meaning that its molecules are so small they're able to cross the membranes of your body's cells.  Once cells are compromised, they become more vulnerable to other toxic chemicals that may be with the SLS.

When I first used this product I did not use it correctly. The product is awesome for revitalizing curls, it hold them in place and makes the stretchable and almost mold-able.I sprayed her hair like crazy then tried to detangle them...like you would with a detangling spray...BAD MOM!
I then watched the video and used SET IT FREE as it was meant to be used and it's awesome!! It's almost like a hair spray because it hold the curls but instead of making the curls feel dry and sticky SET IT FREE actually softens and moisturizes the curls. It's really like NO OTHER product I have tried!!

Heaven In Hair

This deep treatment moisture remedy with botanicals from the rain forests in Brazil quenches thirsty curls with maximum hydration. Infused with Cupuacu, Murumuru and Cocoa seed butter.

I used this HEAVEN IN HAIR to deep condition J''s hair. I applied to damp hair and used a plastic cap to allow it to penetrate into her hair. She wore the cap for a couple of hours then rinsed and her hair was unbelievably soft !!! She loved the smell...she kept hitting the top of her plastic cap so that the scent would come out. It was really funny. It does smell really nice, natural and fresh...like the other DEVACURL products but with a little more kick.

For this style we used:

I changed up J's Mo-hawk style by 2 strand twisting each section of hair. I used green, white and pink beads from the pastel bead collection and beaded her twists using the handy little beader that Snapaholics provided me :). I ended each twist by twisting the end around the joint of the snap and closed the very tiny piece of hair left over into the pink and green snaps.

Hair snaps, or mini hair clips, are a great way to secure the ends of braids and twists. They also hold beads on without the use of foil or rubber bands. Simply wrap the very end of the section of hair around the hinge of the snap, and capture it in the closure.

It's Impossible to find snaps in my area...I'm so happy I found SNAPAHOLICS. Snaps stay in so much better than barrettes and have a neater appearance. If you like the traditional barrette look SNAPAHOLICS has those as well, along with beads, beaders, other hair adornments, hair style ideas, pics and videos!!
