Obia Natural Haircare review and giveaway!

Keeping with our mission of better hair health
we are reviewing some great hydrating and moisturizing products from Obia Natural Haircare!

Jamilah started out with straightened hair
(for the very last time! more on that in my next blog!)

Product #1

  Coconut & Shea Shampoo Bar

(our bar was white in color this picture is from the website, I did not get a chance to snap a pic before J jumped in the shower with it)

This rich moisturizing shampoo will leave your hair soft, conditioned, and hydrated.  Shea butter deeply moisturizes and repairs damage to hair and scalp, while coconut oil protects hair from heat and chemical damage

Jamilah washed her hair with the Coconut & Shea Shampoo bar. When she first saw the bar and heard it was shampoo she seemed all confused lol. She was surprised however, at how simple it was to use. She first wet her hair completely then use the bar directly on her hair until her whole head was lathered. She washed from root to tip gently moving the shampoo through her hair being careful not to cause tangles and knots. She made sure to cleanse her scalp well, massaging the Coconut and Shea shampoo into her scalp with her finger tips and not her nails. She then rinsed her hair, she said it rinsed out very easily.

Her hair did not feel like it often does with a typical shampoo, it was not dry and wasn't badly tangled. We both liked the smell and convenience of the bar shampoo and were impressed with the ingredients! It was a shock to see such a great lather from something that is sulfate free and full of natural oils!!

(Ingredients: Saponified Oils of Coconut, Palm, Castor bean, Safflower; Shea Butter, Vegetable Glycerin, Purified Water, Rosemary Essential Oil, Sorbitol, Soybean protein, Sorbitan Oleate, Fragrance)

Here is J after her shampoo!

As you can see you can already see her curl pattern (particularly in the bottom section) before we did any detangling or combing of any sort!

Product #2

Directions for use: Use on wet or dry hair.  Rub a quarter size amount between your hands and apply to your hair.  Style as desired.  pH balanced Curl Moisture Cream seals in moisture and minimizes frizz by smoothing and closing the cuticle.

I took a about a quarter sized amount as the directions suggested.... I had to control myself as I tend to use too much product and t always seems like the suggested amount is not enough for Jamilah's hair. I was very surprised to find this was not the case with the curl moisture cream! I smoothed the cream through her hair and de-tangled it all with my fingers!
The smell is nice, not too strong or too sweet just fresh and nice! I liked that you can use this cream to seal in moisture without having to use heavy oils. Very good cream!!

By the way every product has at least 1 video about the product and how to use it!

Ingredients: Purified Water (Aqua), Behentrimonium Methosulfate and Cetearyl Alcohol, Vitis vinfera (Grape seed) Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil, Argania spinosa (Argan) oil, Gluconolactone and Sodium Benzoate, Arctium lappa (Burdock Root), Lavandula officinalis (Lavender) Oil, Cocos nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Glycine soya (Soybean) Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Oil, Fragrance (Parfum).

Product #3

Directions for use:  Use on damp or wet hair.  Apply a generous amount on the palm of the hand and rub hands together.  Style hair as desired.  Use to define curls, to smooth edges, or to aid in up-do styles.  Curl Enhancing Custard defines and conditions hair leaving it soft, shiny, and deeply moisturized.

I smoothed this through Jamilah's hair and used a Denman brush to smooth her hair and define her curls. I used a bit more of this product than I did the cream, ok quite a bit more lol! I used it around her hairline to both moisturize and help hide her broken edges in the front. At first I was like "what did I do?" her hair had a little bit of white to it in areas where I seemed to use a little too much....but no worries....it dried completely clear!!
The custard really made her curls pop back up! awesome!

This product has a gentle clean scent also. very nice!

Ingredients: Purified water (Aqua), Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil, Vitis vinfera (Grape seed) Oil, Argania spinosa (Argan) Oil, Carbomer, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Vegetable Glycerin, Gluconolactone and Sodium Benzoate, Xantham Gum, Fragrance

Product #4

Use daily to moisturize your hair and scalp, or to refresh your style. Infused with argan oil, rose oil, and vitamin E

I used this on Jamilah's hair both after pumping up her curls and putting a headband on and again the next day to refresh her hair. This spray has a very light rose scent to me but it's not strong or over-powering. I really like it. The spray is light and refreshing to the hair. Unlike some of J's detangling type sprays that can be thick and weigh hair down this product is light and helps boost her curls while also adding hydration. So you're not only using these products to style but also treat the hair at the same time.... which Jamilah's hair surely needs right now!!

  3. I have strongly suffered from seasonal hair loss. Did not want to go to the doctors, tried different shampoos, conditioners, misc hair nutrition products – with almost no results whatsoever. Then, I’ve read on the hair support forum that there could be a lot of internal reasons for hair loss, and the basic nutrition has to be done from inside out. I started to take vitamins and supplements. Recently, I’ve read about Hair Gain Formula by Military Grade and tried also this supplement product. I’ve been taking it from September and fortunate for me I no longer have seasonal hair loss. I am happy I don’t have to take dozens of pills - all necessary vitamins are contained in this supplement. And it really works! Will definitely take it until spring at least, to check the second ‘dangerous’ season.
